The Local Area

Tan y Ffrynwent sits at the heart of Llanfaelog, a small and charming community surrounded by nature in Western Anglesey. The surf village of Rhosneigr (30 minutes on foot) sits just the other side of Llyn Maelog, a 36-hectare lake teeming with local flora and fauna. Also nearby are the beautiful beaches of Porth Trecastell, Porth Tyn Tywyn and Aberffraw, each connected by the scenic Anglesey Coast Path.
It is the perfect location for sport-based holidays, with watersports on tap at Rhosneigr, Anglesey’s race circuit, Trac Môn, nearby and the Anglesey Golf Club also just minutes away. For food and drink close to your doorstep, our local favourites include Cafe Notos, The Oyster Catcher, Sandy Mount House, Mojo’s and Starvation Bar.
Elsewhere on Anglesey, popular spots include Newborough Beach, Trearddur Bay and Menai Bridge, which are all accessible by car in under 30 minutes.
