Traeth Mawr, meaning Big Beach, is the larger of Cemaes Bay’s two beaches on Anglesey’s northern coast. Its sandy shoreline curves around the bay beside the village, with a promenade, rock pools and views across the Irish Sea. The beach is a great base for exploring Cemaes before following the Wales Coast Path towards the more rugged coastline around Llanbadrig.

Traeth Mawr has a main car park with easy beach access, public toilets and a slipway for launching boats. A second car park at the far end includes disabled bays and a picnic area. Cemaes village is close by for refreshments and other amenities. Dogs are subject to seasonal restrictions, with restrictions applying from 1 May to 30 September.
