Recently back from our stay! Beautiful cottages, very clean and well equipped! The children had a wonderful time playing in the garden. We look forward to returning in the near future.

House

Forming part of a historic coach house, Y Wennol is a tastefully converted holiday cottage of stone and slate. Inside, you’ll find charming original features like timber beams and thick stone walls, while outside is a haven for the whole family with a summerhouse, play area and small woodland with grazing shetland ponies. Accommodating 8, Y Wennol can also be booked with the adjoining property, Y Fran, for larger groups of up to 14.

Ground floor

Kitchen diner
Immediately on the left as you enter the cottage, the kitchen-diner is a light-filled space equipped with everything you’ll need during your stay. There is a washing machine, dishwasher, fridge freezer, electric oven and hob. A large wooden dining table can comfortably accommodate all of you, and there’s a high chair at hand for any little ones.

Snug Room
From the kitchen, you step into a cosy sitting room with a TV and sofas. This small space is a perfect spot for relaxing, reading or enjoying that afternoon cup of tea and sweet treat.

Sitting Room
Y Wennol’s main sitting room is on the right as you enter the property. Equipped with plenty of comfortable seating and a TV, it is a spacious, light-filled room with double doors that open onto a shared courtyard.

Bedroom 1
A ground-floor double bedroom is a comfortable and convenient hideaway for two, with a downstairs bathroom just next door making it feel like an en suite. There are wardrobes, a chest of drawers and bedside tables for storage.

Shower Room
Y Wennol’s downstairs bathroom features a walk-in shower, WC and basin. Adjacent to the ground floor bedroom, it can be used as a communal bathroom, or shut off by an internal door to remain private to the guests in bedroom 1.

First Floor

Bedroom 2
Upstairs, a choice of two spacious bedrooms sit at either end of the landing. Bedroom 2 offers a double and single bed, easily accommodating three. There is also a wardrobe and chest of drawers for essential storage.

Bedroom 3
The final bedroom also features a double and single bed with plenty of storage furniture and a Velux window.

Bathroom
At the centre of the upstairs landing, a spacious family bathroom features a bath, shower, WC and basin.

Outside

Outside, you’ll find a charming courtyard and spacious garden complete with rolling lawns, a children’s play area and a summerhouse. All of these spaces are shared with the adjoining property, Y Fran. Beyond those, there is also a small and charming woodland for guests to enjoy, with a further field home to resident shetland ponies.

The Local Area

Y Wennol is perfectly placed for discovering all the delights of Anglesey. Equidistant (approx 9 miles) from both Red Wharf Bay and Rhosneigr, you can enjoy watersports, leisurely coastal path walks and get to know what life is like on both the east and west coasts of the island. Right on your doorstep is the Oriel Môn art gallery, with the stunning fishing village of Moelfre just a short journey away.
Menai Bridge and Beaumaris are both icons of the island, with a wealth of independent shops, pubs and restaurants - we recommend Dylan’s in Menai Bridge for authentic local cuisine and unbeatable waterside views. On route to either of these destinations, you’ll find Pili Palas Nature World - an exciting family attraction home to a variety of native and tropical animals and insects with play areas to boot. Little ones are guaranteed to love it.

House Notes

- Please note the gardens are shared, but offer ample space for both houses.
- The play ground is to be used at your own risk, and under adult supervision at all times
- Y Fran can also be booked with Y Wennol for larger groups.
