House

There aren't many places where you can step outside with your morning coffee and be quite this close to the sea. Y Graig sits right on the edge of Traeth Bach in Cemaes Bay, with the harbour wall and water stretching out directly in front of the cottage.

Dating back more than 200 years and appearing on some of the earliest maps of Cemaes, the cottage has plenty of history behind it. It was later extended and converted into its current upside-down layout, with the bedroom and bathroom downstairs and the open-plan living space upstairs, making the most of its position beside the bay.

Inside, traditional beams and cottage character sit alongside the modern essentials you need for an easy coastal stay. The cottage sleeps two in a king-size bedroom, while upstairs you'll find an open-plan living space with a compact kitchen, dining area, log burner and doors leading down to the private terrace.

For a couple looking to slow down, explore the coast and spend a little more time by the sea, Y Graig makes a wonderfully intimate base.

Bathroom
A modern bathroom with a walk-in shower, WC and basin.

First Floor

Open-Plan Living Room / Dining Room / Kitchen
The upstairs living space makes the most of Y Graig's coastal position. The compact cottage-style kitchen has everything you need for two, with a dining area and seating arranged around the log burner.

Doors open onto steps leading down to the private terrace, bringing you straight out to the sea beyond.

Outside

The private terrace sits directly beside Traeth Bach, with uninterrupted views across the water towards Cemaes harbour wall. It's the sort of spot where you can sit outside and watch the tide come and go without having to go anywhere at all.

The Local Area

Y Graig is right in the heart of Cemaes Bay, one of Anglesey's most northerly coastal villages. The Wales Coast Path is close by, with walks leading along the rugged coastline towards Llanbadrig Church, Porth Wen Brickworks and the atmospheric remains of Llanlleiana Porcelain Works.

For a taste of the area's industrial past, head to Mynydd Parys, while Cemlyn Nature Reserve offers a completely different landscape of lagoons, beaches and wildlife. Further along the coast, Church Bay and Porth Swtan are well worth exploring.

With the sea literally outside your door and some of north Anglesey's best coastal walks nearby, Y Graig is a brilliant base for a slower kind of island escape.
