Solstice Cottage is a delightful barn conversion in a tranquil rural setting next to Bryn Celli Ddu, Wales’ most sacred Druid monument.

House

Solstice Cottage is a converted barn that has great character but also many modern stylish embellishments. It is in a lovely tranquil setting beside the ancient monument of Bryn Celli Ddu, the Welsh equivalent of Stonehenge which is aligned with the sun at the summer solstice. All of the bedrooms have cleverly designed windows allowing plenty of natural light by day but with blackout blinds to ensure a good night’s sleep.

The Local Area

Solstice Cottage is just a stone’s throw from Bryn Celli Ddu, which is a must-visit ancient burial chamber that aligns with the sun on the summer solstice - hence the name of the cottage. Next door to the cottage is Plas Newydd, a National Trust house with splendid gardens and woodlands to explore and fascinating tours of the house which overlooks the Menai Strait and Snowdonia. The town of Menai Bridge is close by, as are the wonderful dunes at Llanddwyn and Newborough Forest with its many walking trails and the chance of seeing red squirrels.
