A wonderful little property next door to the National Trust’s Plas Newydd House, Blacksmith’s Cottage is an ideal hideaway for a couple. It features the large fireplace where the estate’s blacksmith used to ply his trade, but it’s now a cosy nook in which to relax after a day of exploring.
House
Blacksmith's cottage has been stylishly and elegantly renovated, retaining many of its original features, including the huge blacksmith’s fireplace, now converted into a cosy seating area. This is the perfect couples’ retreat. The cottage forms part of the Plas Newydd estate’s home farm courtyard.
Living Space
A neatly designed and well-equipped kitchen sits in the corner of the room, while the main feature of the living room is the snug seating nook that once formed an enormous fireplace.

A spacious bedroom with a superking bed and en-suite bathroom with shower, WC and sink.

The Local Area
There are lovely woodland and coastal walks on the doorstep. The main house of Plas Newydd is well worth a visit and the whole estate is very well maintained by the National Trust. The extensive gardens and grounds are ideal for picnics or watching the red squirrels frolic among the giant redwood trees. The cottage is just a short drive from Llanddwyn Beach and Newborough Forest. The bustling town of Menai Bridge is also close by and has a number of restaurants and cafes as well as offering exhilarating boat rides along the Menai Strait with spectacular views of Plas Newydd house from the water.Facilities
