Some of our favourite restaurants in Menai Bridge include Dylans, Freckled Angel and Sage Kitchen. Spice Island does fantastic Indian takeaway food if you just want to grab and go, or if it’s a Michelin-starred experience you’re after, don’t miss Sosban and The Old Butchers.

If you’d like to enjoy some waterfront views during a stay in Menai Bridge, we recommend taking a stroll along the Belgian Promenade between the two bridges. It was built by Belgian refugees in gratitude for the hospitality of the people of Menai Bridge who provided accommodation during WWI.
The Menai Bridge is famous because it’s considered the world’s first suspension bridge and was designed by revered engineer, Thomas Telford. Built from 1819 to 1826, the bridge had to allow for fully-rigged sailing ships to pass underneath at high tide and has remained mostly unchanged since its completion almost two hundred years ago.
Yes! The Menai Bridge has a footway on either side for pedestrians. Be sure to take care, as the road is narrow.
It is 4.5 miles from Menai Bridge to Beaumaris, approximately 11 minutes by car.

Freckled Angel is a must-visit. Menai Bridge also has Anglesey’s only Michelin-starred restaurant, Sosban, and The Old Butchers, but be sure to book in plenty of time to avoid disappointment.

Menai Bridge is a a great hub for exploring all of North Wales, with adventure like Rib Ride on your doorstep and the stunning Cadnant Gardens and Treborth Gardens just a stone’s throw away. All within a short drive, you’ll find plenty of entertainment for the whole family, from Pili Palas for the younger family members to Plas Newydd for a fun filled family day out.
