RNLI - Barmouth Lifeboat Station

Snowdonia

Barmouth Lifeboat Station is a great stop on a day exploring the beautiful coast of Barmouth, offering visitors the chance to discover the town’s strong connection with the sea. The station provides an insight into the vital work of the RNLI and its volunteer crews, who help protect those enjoying the waters around Cardigan Bay. There has been a lifeboat at Barmouth since 1828. The current boathouse, finished in 2004, is the third site for the station and houses the station’s all-weather Shannon Class lifeboat and D class inshore boat. Its seaside location makes it easy to combine a visit with a stroll along Barmouth’s famous sandy beach, a walk along the harbour or a wander through the lively town. With its fascinating maritime heritage, coastal setting and beautiful views, Barmouth Lifeboat Station is a lovely addition to a day out on the Welsh coast.
