We’re very pleased to be starting this list with a true community hub here on Anglesey – Cafe Notos. Regularly hosting seasonal events for both locals and visitors alike to enjoy, they are collaborating with other local businesses to provide things like bauble workshops, wreath making and cookie decorating, culminating in their German-inspired Christmas market on the 20th December. Conwy Harbour Christmas Fair  

Dates: 20th – 23rd November 2025

A winter wonderland set before the magical backdrop of medieval Conwy Castle, the Conwy Harbour Christmas Fair is set to be the first of its kind, following the success of the May Day Fair earlier this year. Expect countless stands from local artisans and a beautiful blend of the magical and maritime.

Zipmas: one of North Wales' hotly anticipated Christmas events

Snowdonia Local Makers Christmas Market  

Where? Royal Oak Hotel, Betws y Coed, Conwy, LL24 0AY

Dates: 29th & 30th November 2025

The alpine enclave of Betws y Coed is glorious in any season, but it comes into its own in winter. Make sure to add the Local Christmas Market to your list, which will be hosted by the historic Royal Oak Hotel and promises all manner of gourmet goods. Come for the shopping, stay for the scenery and local choir performances.

Hawarden Estate’s Winter Market 2025 

Where? Hawarden Estate Farm Shop, Flintshire, CH5 3FB

Dates: 29th & 30th November 2025

Based in the eastern reaches of North Wales, just a few miles from Chester, Hawarden Estate is absolutely worth a visit. The annual Winter Market is back for 2025, bringing with it the usual festive cheer and high-quality of homewares, produce and more. The village of Hawarden itself is also quaint enough to rival the Cotswolds, and there is a (weather permitting) Christmas lights switch-on at the central pub, The Glynne Arms, on Thursday, 27th.

Based in Abergele, Manorafon Farm Park brings the best family-fun vibes in any season, and winter is no exception. They’re hosting a Christmas Light Trail for everyone to enjoy, with light tunnels, giant Christmas trees, performances from the ‘Christmas Circus’, and their very own onsite pub, the Elf & Reindeer. You’ll also be able to step into Santa’s Grotto and meet the main man himself.

Portmeirion Christmas Fair

Where? Minffordd, Penrhyndeudraeth, Gwynedd, LL48 6ER

Dates: 5th – 7th December 2025

Aiming to bring a little extra festive magic to their annual winter fair, the stunning Italianate village of Portmeirion will be opening its gates for a weekend-long family-friendly event celebrating a diverse range of local food and crafts. Another opportunity for Christmas shopping, there will also be food, drink, and entertainment.

Christmas events in North Wales - Llandudno Santa Dash

Llandudno 5k Santa Dash  

Where? The Pier, North Parade, Llandudno LL30 2LP

Dates: 6th December 2025, from 10:45 am. 

There is nothing that gets us into the festive spirit quite like seeing hundreds of people from the local community taking on a 5k race, dressed in their finest Santa suits. Set to be great fun for spectators and participants alike, the Llandudno Santa Dash takes place on the first weekend in December.

Christmas Light Trail & Santa’s Grotto  

Where? Llyn Brenig, Conwy County, Wales, LL21 9TT

Dates: 18th – 21st December 

Situated at the heart of the Denbigh Moors between the counties of Conwy and Denbighshire, Llyn Brenig is a stunning space of forest, moorland and lake. As well as countless walking/cycling trails and a Viking sauna & cold dip experience, there are some festive things to do, including the Christmas Light Trail & Santa’s Grotto. A magical trail of lights leads to Santa’s Grotto where children will meet Santa and talk to him about their Christmas dreams and wishes before receiving a gift.

Santa Trains – The Welsh Highland Railway  

Where? Various experiences departing from Caernarfon & Porthmadog

Could there be anything more magical than boarding a steam train alongside Santa, and embarking on a journey through the mythical Snowdonia landscape? Perfect for families wanting to tap into some Polar Express enjoyment, the Welsh Highland Railway is running a series of fun-filled festive experiences that you can check out below.

Father Christmas at Pili Palas 

Where? Penmynydd Road, Menai Bridge, Anglesey, LL59 5RP

Dates: Various dates from the 6th – 23rd December

Ever wondered what it would be like to have breakfast, lunch or dinner with Father Christmas? Well, now you can find out. Pili Palas is hosting ‘sit with Santa’ sessions throughout December. Food is included in the price of a ticket, along with a visit to Santa’s grotto, a small gift, access to the soft play, a ‘decorate a biscuit’ experience, and a visit to the zoo.
