House
Evocative of high alpine pastures in Central Europe, Cuckoo Lodge is a charming holiday cabin accommodating two adults and a child or infant. With an upside-down interior and a private outdoor hot tub, it’s a charming retreat from the distractions and drudgery of everyday life.
Entryway
With its cosy character, Cuckoo Lodge has a small entrance space with large windows designed to allow you to drink in the great outdoors. In here, there is a space to hang jackets and leave muddy boots, along with a small table for two with woodland views.
Kitchen
A galley-style kitchen features everything you’ll need during your stay, including a kettle, toaster, microwave, oven and gas hob and a fridge.
Bathroom
Across from the kitchen, a small bathroom has a shower, loo, and basin with windows that feature a charming stained-glass effect.
Bedroom / Living Room
Upstairs, a spacious bedroom boasts a double bed, wardrobes, a comfy sofa and a Smart TV. Double doors lead out onto a charming balcony with mountain and woodland views.
As well as the bedroom balcony with chairs and a table, guests can also enjoy an outdoor area at the front of the lodge with a hot tub, BBQ and additional seating.
Set amidst stunning lakeside scenery on the edge of the Clwydian Range & Dee Valley national landscape, Cuckoo Lodge is the ideal choice for life-affirming breaks in nature. There are countless walks to enjoy from the doorstep, with the nearby village of Caerwys being a great place to head for a hearty pub lunch at the Piccadilly Inn. Across the other side of the valley, you can join the final stretch of the Offa’s Dyke Path, a walking trail spanning the entire length of Wales.
You’ll also only be 30 minutes from the Roman city of Chester, which is teeming with shops, bars, restaurants, and plenty of attractions to fill an action-packed day out. Often drawing parallels to York thanks to its medieval architecture and postcard-perfect cobbled streets, it’s well worth a visit if you’re coming by car.
Alternatively, the nearest towns are Mold and Denbigh, both of which have historic charm and a range of local shops, pubs, and restaurants.
