Perched at the top of Cardigan Bay, Criccieth looks out across Snowdonia and the Cambrian Coast, offering a mix of seaside charm and mountain views. Our Criccieth cottages put you in the perfect spot to enjoy both coastal and countryside adventures, with the Llŷn Peninsula and Snowdonia National Park right on your doorstep.
In the heart of town, Criccieth Castle stands proudly on the cliffs, built by Llywelyn the Great and later claimed by Edward I before being retaken in 1404. With centuries of history behind it, Criccieth grew into a much-loved holiday destination after the Cambrian Coast railway arrived in 1867. Today, its two beaches, separated by the castle, are a peaceful place to unwind, with spectacular views making it a favourite for families, walkers, and those seeking a relaxing seaside escape. But it’s the location that makes it special – whether you’re heading west along the peninsula to Abersoch or Aberdaron, north into Snowdonia, or along the coast to Portmeirion and Harlech, you’re never far from something worth seeing. Browse our Criccieth holiday cottages and holiday lets and find your perfect North Wales base.
All of our Criccieth cottages are either within walking distance of the beach, or benefit from gorgeous sea views, with some even capturing uninterrupted views out to the castle, like Nant Y Wyddan and Bella Vista.
